Jiangsu’s vehicle exports reached 7.26 billion yuan from January to April this year, an increase of 130.7%, with ASEAN, EU and the Middle East being the main markets, according to Nanjing Customs.

The province’s export of electric passenger cars totaled 2.86 billion yuan during the four months, a year-on-year increase of 552.6%.

Lianyungang Port has emerged as a key hub for vehicle exports in China thanks to various support measures. Nanjing Customs has established a dedicated service with personnel specifically assigned to assist automobile manufactures in complying with customs procedures and ensuring the smooth loading of vehicles onto ships shortly after arrival.

Pan Chuyan, export business manager of Chery Automobile Co Ltd, said that local customs authorities have dispatched experts to explain policies and provide guidance, enabling the company to benefit from streamlined services for faster customs clearance, such as up-front declaration.
