China-Japan Smart Manufacturing Park launched in Changzhou

Five industrial deals worth $325 million were signed at the China-Japan Smart Manufacturing Exchange Conference held in Changzhou on November 22, involving projects of construction machinery and cross-border e-commerce.

The event also unveiled the China-Japan Smart Manufacturing Park located in Changzhou National High-tech Zone, which is one of the top destinations of Japanese investment in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The park is already home to 150 Japanese enterprises with a total investment of nearly $3 billion, which mainly went to construction machinery, vehicles and auto parts industries.

At the conference, the Management Committee of Changzhou National High-tech Zone also signed an agreement with Tokai Japan-China Trade Center, and an agreement with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to facilitate cooperation in fields of industry, technology and talents.

At present, Changzhou has 627 Japanese-funded enterprises with registered investment of $3.3 billion. In 2021, Changzhou's trade with Japan reached $3.9 billion, up 17.1% year-on-year.
