Changzhou became the only winner in Jiangsu Province recognized on the list of 24 national backbone cold-chain logistics bases announced by the National Development and Reform Commission.

Changzhou has made great strides in the development of logistics industry in recent years. In the province's 14th Five-Year planning for the industry, Changzhou is positioned as a multimodal logistics center in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, a core logistics hub in central Jiangsu, and a modern logistics center city in the Yangtze River Delta.

It's expected to play an important role in improving the cold-chain logistics network, safeguarding the supply of daily necessities, and promoting the coordinated growth of associated industries.

Changzhou is China's largest manufacturing base of insulation panels for cold rooms and home to leading suppliers for cold-chain logistics equipment and energy-saving insulation panels including Jingxue Energy.

Covering an area of about 127 hectares, Changzhou National Backbone Cold-chain Logistics Base is located on the west of the Grand Canal in Zhonglou District. The site has already built cold rooms with a total space of 340,000 cubic meters and is currently expanding the space by 470,000 cubic meters more.

The cold-chain projects under construction over an area of about 13 hectares involve a total investment of 1.28 billion yuan. The projects are mainly to provide comprehensive services such as storage, distribution and intelligent management for ingredient enterprises.
