Jiangsu receives over 60.75 million tourists in “Golden Week Plus”

Jiangsu welcomed more than 60.75 million domestic tourists during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with total spending reaching 64.493 billion yuan (US$9.06 billion), up 24.48% and 23.73% respectively year-on-year, as the province’s Department of Culture and Tourism announced on October 8.

According to card payment giant China UnionPay, cultural and tourism spending by non-Jiangsu users totaled 20.869 billion yuan in the province during the first seven days of the "Golden Week Plus" holiday, accounting for 9.74% of the national figure and ranking first nationwide.

Data from online ticketing platform Damai.cn also showed that Jiangsu hosted 1,490 performances in the first seven days of the holiday, attracting 588,500 attendees, up 107% year-on-year, with box-office revenue of 414 million yuan, up 117%. 

Furthermore, three matches of the 2025 Jiangsu Football City League, held in Nanjing, Xuzhou and Nantong, helped draw 2.496 million visits to scenic areas rated A in the three host cities.

Notably, the province’s registered museums and memorial halls received a total of more than 7.24 million visitors, generating 39.66 million yuan in cultural-and-creative product sales.
