After 16 hours of flight from Sunan Shuofang International Airport, a 747-400 full cargo plane of SF Airlines carrying 58 tons of masks, isolation suits, special protective masks and nucleic acid testing kits landed in Hahn, Germany on March 29.
SF Airlines, the air transport arm of Chinese courier giant SF Holdings, is one of the cargo airlines back to normal operations at the airport, which serves the cities of Wuxi and Suzhou in southern Jiangsu.
The airport has provided stable transport service to companies in Wuxi and its neighbors. It’s estimated that a total of 8,300 tons of cargo was transported through the airport in March.
Enterprises in southern Jiangsu have reported rising foreign trade amid the improvement of the domestic epidemic situation. Since March, about 12,000 parcels were sent abroad through Wuxi outlet of China Post, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent.
Wuxi has gone all out to ensure the smooth air cargo transport and support local companies to resume work. The three freight routes from Wuxi to Hahn in Germany, Osaka in Japan and Singapore can deliver up to about 440 tons of goods per week, which plays a vital role in restoring the international supply chain of enterprises in southern Jiangsu.
