Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu Province, urged greater efforts and more decisive measures to resolutely win the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak in Yangzhou.

At the city’s COVID-19 response meeting on the night of August 12, Wu said, at this critical moment, it’s important to make nucleic acid testing compulsory among all key groups, introduce more thoughtful measures, and focus on safety among all works. The testing capacity and efficiency should be increased, and the medical waste should also be disposed of in a timely manner.

Wu also said TCM decoctions should be fully promoted at quarantine sites to help fight COVID-19 while renovation of rehabilitation hospitals for cured patients and backup facilities should be accelerated. Efforts are also needed to carry out training to support nucleic acid testing, community management and personal self-protection. The concerns of the people, from supply of daily necessities to need of mental help, should be addressed effectively.
