A meeting to coordinate national, provincial and city-level efforts in the fight against COVID-19 was held in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province on August 9.

Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, and Zhang Jinghua, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, joined Lei Haichao, deputy director of the National Health Commission in the meeting.

It’s necessary to strengthen the epidemic monitoring and information reporting, improve the emergency response against infection clusters, and boost the capacity of nucleic acid testing.

Yangzhou also launched a new round of nucleic acid testing on the day. Wu said efforts are needed to standardize the sample collection, transport and rapid reporting of the test result so as to constantly improve the pandemic containment measures.
