Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, presided over a meeting with Yangzhou City’s leading officials on the night of August 11 to contain the COVID-19 resurgence.
The meeting studied the important instructions of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, on the prevention and control of the epidemic as well as the requirements of Vice Premier Sun Chunlan.
Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial governor, and Zhang Jinghua, also deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, attended the meeting.
Lou said it’s important to close loopholes in the COVID-19 response, strictly enforce quarantine measures, and improve the overall performance with a commitment to serving the people and a firm confidence to win the battle.
Officials of the city should take the initiative to work on the frontline, motivate people to overcome the epidemic, and adopt resolute measures to plug up loopholes in the prevention and control work, said Lou.
