Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, stressed solid efforts to prevent and control COVID-19 outbreaks in Yangzhou City on August 9.

Lou said it’s important to have firm confidence in fighting against the pandemic, enhance the accountability system, and adopt scientific and well-organized measures. He also expressed gratitude to frontline medical workers, police officers, community workers and volunteers.

Lou visited toll stations at several highways passing through the city and appreciated the efforts of traffic police and medical staff in the pandemic prevention and control. He said efforts are needed to curb the spread of the virus to a minimum and also guarantee the supply and industrial chains.

He also visited residential neighborhoods to learn about the nucleic acid testing, the supply of daily necessities, and difficulties in COVID-19 response. In his talk with community workers, he called for details-orientated practices and thoughtful decisions to win people’s understanding and support.

Lou urged efforts to improve the efficiency of nucleic acid testing, get together the province’s medical resources, improve training for medical staff, and try the best to treat patients. The province should strengthen the coordination and dispatch of supplies and also call for the public to protect themselves in scientific manners.
