Nanjing's four seasons each have their unique beauty, and the city's day and night offer distinct charms. Helia from Iran has lived in China for four years. During the scorching summer, she especially loves Nanjing's nights. She chose to embark on a spiritual journey to the Deji Art Museum.
At the exhibition of "An Era in Jinling", Helia was amazed to walk into the painting of a thousand years ago, thanks to cutting-edge digital technologies. “It is like an electronic painting where I can have a peep at people’s lives in ancient China,” she said. The ancient long scroll depicts prosperous street scenes of Nanjing, once called Jinling 1000 years ago.
The“Everydays” series created by digital artist Beeple (Mike Winkelmann) present a feeling of the future. This is Beeple’s first solo exhibition, and Helia was totally obsessed with it. She exclaimed, "the beauty of digital art is that you can enjoy the artwork anyway without knowing anything about art itself."
Deji Art Museum is the only museum that opens till midnight all year around. It has become a tourist destination in the night for many people. “Behind the city’s vibrant street life and dynamic art, I feel the pulsating energy of this place.” said Helia.
