Nanjing's international overnight visitors up 48.7% in first two months

Nanjing welcomed 77,000 international overnight visitors in the first two months of the year, marking a 48.7% increase year-on-year, according to the city’s Department of Culture and Tourism at a promotional event in Shanghai.

Nanjing and Shanghai, both part of the Yangtze River Delta urban clusters, boast smooth transportation connections. At the event, the city made an introduction of its landmarks such as the Grand Baoen Temple and Niushou Mountain. Additionally, 16 travel agencies from the two cities engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges.

Currently, thanks to the unilateral visa-free access and 240-hour transit visa exemptions, China is experiencing a surge in inbound tourism. In response, Nanjing, renowned for its culture and history, will optimize its tourism products to cater to overeats visitors and strives to become a significant international travel destination.
