Nanjing Sport Institute launches new book of Olympic gold medalists

Nanjing Sport Institute (NSI), established in 1956, released a new book of the Olympic gold medalists who have studied at the school on the afternoon of May 23.

At the book launch ceremony, the institute’s Party chief Zhu Chuangeng and vice president Jin Song joined Olympic gold medalists Huang Xu, Luo Xianjuan and Xu Anqi to present the book to representatives of athletes, coaches, students and teaching staff.

With reliable and comprehensive information and many photos, the book told the inspiring stories of 15 Olympic champions in their journey to success through tenacious efforts, opening a new window for people from all walks of life to understand the school and its award-winning athletes.

Chinese painter Chen Xiguang also donated a scroll about the Olympic champions from the school. Chen took three months to create the 11-meter-long painting that highlighs the glories of these 15 famous athletes.

Xu Anqi, who won the gold medal in the women's team épée event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, tennis player Zhang Ze, and Sun Jun, a former world No. 1 singles badminton player, made speeches in the ceremony and encouraged the school’s students to double efforts and reach new heights of success.
