The Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangsu Province unveiled the Charm of Jiangsu Global Communication Center at a press conference in Nanjing on December 2.
Gong Liang, deputy director of the department, said the center will try to raise the global profile of cultural creations and tourist destinations that are closely related to Jiangsu’s rich culture and historical legacy. The center will also increase cooperation with international thinktanks and industry agencies to facilitate various exchange programs and better engage with the global community.
Also on the day, the new program announced the opening of an office sitting at China Financial Information Center, a landmark building in Shanghai, with plans for such office in Paris, Tokyo and New York in the future. They are expected to organize more targeted events to better connect with the community.
A major export-oriented economic powerhouse in China, Jiangsu is known for the abundant water resources, such as the Yangtze River running through its core cities and the long coastline in the east too. The province has featured waterscape in its tagline for tourism.
