In 2024, the border inspection agencies across Jiangsu recorded over 200,000 visa-free entries, accounting for 56.31% of all foreign visitors to the coastal province, according to a work conference of the provincial immigration administration.

China introduced a series of expanded visa-free policies last year. Ports in Nanjing, Wuxi, Yanghzou and Lianyungang were authorized to implement the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, significantly contributing to the increase in inbound visitors.

The number of entry and exit trips through Jiangsu's ports in 2024 increased by nearly 80% compared to the previous year. The tourist trips, which amounted to 3.95 million, represented a growth of 98.09%.
