Border inspection agencies across Jiangsu Province recorded about 100,000 entry and exit trips during the Spring Festival holiday, a 12.1% increase year-on-year.
The province’s General Station of Immigration Inspection recorded 757 inbound and outbound flights and passenger/freight ferries in the holiday period from January 28 to February 4, marking a 20.1% year-on-year growth.
During the holiday, approximately 55,000 travelers departed from the ports in Jiangsu, with Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea being popular destinations.
Meanwhile, China's optimized visa-free policies also attracted more foreigners to the province. On February 2, Lianyungang welcomed the first Sino-Korean passenger and cargo ferry in the Year of the Snake, carrying 102 South Korean passengers who entered China visa-free.
Data also shows that over 10,000 foreign travelers have entered Jiangsu since the Spring Festival travel rush starting January 14. Many were drawn to Jiangsu’s distinctive water town landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
