The third session of the 14th Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress held its second plenary meeting on January 21, presided over by Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.

Fan Jinlong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, delivered a work report on behalf of the committee.

Fan said that the committee had focused on forging new quality productive forces over the past year, prioritizing legislation in areas such as finance, intellectual property protection, and technological progress. It also accelerated legislation for emerging fields and promoted green industrial transformation and upgrading.

The people's congresses at the provincial, city, and county levels have collaborated in several key fields, such as industrial and technological innovation, modernization of the industrial system, green and low-carbon development, improvement of people's livelihoods, and enhancement of social governance. Jiangsu has advanced the mechanism to handle and provide feedback on suggestions made by deputies during recess, processing 24 proposals and 818 suggestions, with an effective response rate of 89.7%.

For this year, Fan underlined the commitment to high-quality legislation and targeted supervision. Efforts will be made to deliberate work reports on various subjects, including rural reform, talent development and trade innovation, organize law enforcement inspections, and conduct research projects.
