Huai’an city launched a photography collection program at Baima Lake wetland park on March 21 to highlight the beautiful landscapes and the achievements it made in environmental protection over the past ten years.
Nearly 30 photographers from major media outlets such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, People's Photography, Chinese National Geography, and Xinhua Daily, along with the China Photo Journalist Society, and Jiangsu Photographers Association, participated the program.
Photographers captured the stunning beauty and water charm during the visit to destinations such as Baima Lake, Liushuwan and Hongze Lake scenic areas, Bochi Mountain Park, Shuidukou Business District, and Li Canal Cultural Corridor.
Drones were also utilized to take photos of the sparkling Baima Lake and a vast field of vibrant rapeseed flowers. At the wharf in Lizhuang, some farmers who gave up their fishing trade to protect the environment shared the experience in working in tourism now, saying they are hopeful for their future life.
As a “water ecological civilization city” recognized at the national level and one of the first pilot cities of ecological civilization in China, Huai’an boasts a vast water network linked by rivers and lakes, covering one-fourth of its total area. The city’s forest coverage and urban greening coverage reached 24.3% and 44%, respectively.
