Xu visited the area along the Yangtze River in the Five Mountains Zone, which has become a popular destination after environmental renovation efforts. Focusing on the enhancement of people's well-being, it’s important to adhere to green development, restore and protect the eco-system along the river, and take measures that integrate production, living and ecology, said Xu.

At Nantong Museum, Xu watched exhibits introducing Zhang Jian, a Chinese industrialist and educator in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Xu praised the late Chinese industrialist as a model of entrepreneurs for his efforts in running businesses that benefited the nation, developing education and taking part in public welfare activities.

In the inspection, Xu also said more efforts are needed to speed up the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, advance the construction of Tongzhou Bay, pursue innovation-driven growth, increase investment in R&D, and promote the intelligent and digital transformation.
