Nantong Port launched an intelligent management platform of shore power, the provision of shoreside electrical power to a ship at berth, on June 24, the first such platform in Chinese cities.
The platform can share data related to maritime and transportation in real time with management departments as well as operators at wharfs, providing strong IT support to improve the utilization rate of shore power.
From January to May, Nantong’s maritime and transportation departments cooperated to complete the installation of shore power systems at all 75 wharfs that meet the safety requirements. The systems can monitor ships' power usage online and record rich information for better management and data analysis, such as the weekly use of electricity of a single charging station.
The two departments and ZTT, a green technology group, cooperated to jointly build the intelligent management platform for shore power, with the application of AI, IoT and Big Data.
