Nantong streamlines services for foreigners

Nantong has streamlined its governmental services for foreigners working and living in the city.

The city’s Public Security Bureau and Science and Technology Bureau announced on May 20 the previously separate services will be handled by one single window at the Nantong Municipal Government Service Center, which means saving time and efforts for the applicants.

Through data sharing and process integration, the Exit-entry Administration and the Department of Foreign Experts of the two bureaus are able to cut the approval time to just seven working days now.

Employers can submit application for foreign employees through the Service System for Foreigners Working in China (https://fuwu.most.gov.cn/lhgzweb/) and the Exit-entry Administration. After passing the relevant checks and procedures, foreign applicants can make appointment to submit support materials for residence permit on site.

At present, there are more than 1,300 foreign experts and professionals working and living in Nantong. They have played an active role in promoting scientific and cultural exchanges and talent training.
