Jiangsu to host 10 online exhibitions to bolster foreign trade

In order to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of traditional foreign trade enterprises, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce has rolled out new support measures.

The department announced the review of online exhibition projects, encouraging foreign trade enterprises, especially SMEs, to vigorously expand their online sales.

An expert panel consisting of exhibition professionals, e-commerce gurus and representatives from the department concluded the assessment and decided ten online fairs to be held in the first half of 2021 and the preliminary recognition of five enterprises.

The coastal province organized a series of online exhibitions and networking events in 2020 to help foreign trade companies cope with risks and seize development opportunities. The support measures included increased credit and financial guarantee. More than 16,000 enterprises joined 77 fairs and reached deals worth $1.2 billion. The province also helped 2,600 foreign trade companies to switch to domestic sales that amounted to 700 million yuan.
