At the 2020 Belt and Road International Cooperation and Development Forum on Agricultural Modernization in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu University signed a MOU with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to promote talent training.
The forum was hosted by the China Agricultural International Cooperation Promotion Association, the Agricultural Equipment International (Capacity) Cooperation Alliance and the Belt and Road African Research Alliance in partnership with Jiangsu University.
More than 150 officials, experts and enterprise representatives from home and abroad discussed international cooperation in agricultural modernization under the Belt and Road framework.
According to the MOU, Jiangsu University and UNIDO will promote international research, internships for students in international organizations, and holding of conferences.
"During the 1980s and 1990s, Jiangsu University was a talent training base of UNIDO, and now the MOU on cooperation will further strengthen the university’s role," said Yan Xiaohong, President of Jiangsu University.
The cooperation scope has been expanded to include food processing and safety, and also provides valuable opportunities for the university's teachers and students to visit a number of international organizations for practical training.
