Jiangsu makes progress in building three railway lines

Progress has been made in the construction of three railway lines in East China’s Jiangsu Province.

The Yangkou Port-Lyusi Railway will be 85 kilometers long with nine stations. Construction of the project’s first stage, 29 kilometers long, started in May 2021 and now is in the process of erecting the T-shaped girder bridge. Upon completion, it will improve transport efficiency and reduce costs for foreign trade enterprises in areas along the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta region.

On the evening of June 15, equipment installation was completed for building a railway section linking the Xuzhou-Suqian-Huai’an-Yancheng and the Lianyungang-Huai’an-Yangzhou-Zhenjiang high-speed lines. The 6-kilometer-long section, located in Madian Town, will help improve the regional railway network and cut the travel time from Yancheng to Nanjing by 30 minutes.

Smooth progress was also achieved in building the main body of Taicang Railway Station for the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Intercity Railway, the first line constructed and managed independently by Jiangsu. The Jiangsu Railway Group has taken a series of measures to ensure construction safety and quality of the project amid the fight against COVID-19.
