The Jiangsu Healthcare Security Administration has updated medical insurance measures to support the fight against COVID-19 resurgence.
The cost for antigen testing reagents at designated retail pharmacies can be covered by individual accounts and such expenses occurred at designated grassroots medical institutions should be settled pursuant to existing provisions of social pooling units, according to the measures.
According to the latest version of diagnosis and treatment protocol for COVID-19, Jiangsu also temporarily cover the cost of five newly added medicines via the medical insurance funds.
Meanwhile, Jiangsu will allocate medical insurance funds for at least two months in advance to the designated medical institutions for the treatment of COVID-19 patients and those with fever clinics. Other designated medical institutions will get no less than one month of medical insurance funds in advance.
Jiangsu will also implement new ways of settlement of medical expenses, such as for online medical services. Such measures will reduce the frequency of hospital visits by patients and also minimize the spread of the virus. Efforts will also be made to ensure the sufficient funds for vaccine and vaccination fees.
