The Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Administration has recently launched a campaign to protect the intellectual property rights (IPRs) through the administrative means.
The campaign will focus on key areas where the public is particularly concerned about counterfeiting, piracy and other copyright infringements, such as food, drugs and Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

This crackdown on IPR-related violations will mainly take the administrative approach, with stronger efforts planned to ensure the compliance with law and regulation in important exhibitions. In the campaign, Jiangsu will strengthen administrative adjudication on patent infringement disputes, provide more guidance on trademark issues, intensify the fight against counterfeiting and IPRs infringement, and crack down on malicious trademark registration and irregular patent applications.
The province will also promote a pilot program on building the IPRs protection demonstration zone, advance the reform of the geographical indication (GI) permission system, and provide effective IPRs services for enterprises tapping into the international markets.
