The Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics that closed on March 13 was committed to honoring the values of "courage, determination, inspiration and equality". These values have also inspired people with disabilities in East China’s Jiangsu Province.
According to the Jiangsu Disabled Persons' Federation, the province will focus on promoting the comprehensive development and common prosperity of the disabled population, secure their equal rights and improve their quality of life. One key priority is to advance the sports inclusion for about 4.79 million disabled people in the province.

Jiangsu will support disabled people to easily participate in valorous events, provide cultural and sports services in line with the province’s characteristics, and ensure the quality and availability to public services, according to the 14th Five-Year Plan.
For people with disabilities, governments above the county level will carry out at least five mass sports events each year and one competition for a single sport. The province will also host its 11th Sports Games for People with Disabilities at a high standard in 2022.
To improve rehabilitation service, the first step for people with disabilities to integrate in society, Jiangsu will focus on meeting the precise needs of the disabled, give priority to children with disabilities, and improve the rehabilitation system to incorporate medical treatment, according to Wan Li, president of the Jiangsu Disabled Persons' Federation.
