Jiangsu recently issued guidelines to promote the development of intelligent construction, a method that deeply integrates next-generation information technology with advanced manufacturing.
The guidelines set both near and long-term development goals for intelligent construction. By the end of 2025, intelligent construction technologies are expected to be applied in 50% of major projects and an intelligent construction industry chain will basically take shape. By 2030, these technologies are projected to be used in about 70% of medium and large-scale construction projects, with further integration and improvement of the industry chain. By 2035, the technologies are expected to be widely used by medium and large enterprises.
To achieve these goals, the guidelines outline five key areas: the construction industry internet, digital integrated design, robots and intelligent equipment, intelligent production of components, and intelligent construction management.
For example, regarding construction robots and intelligent equipment, Jiangsu plans to strengthen the research and application of core technologies such as new sensors, intelligent control, multi-machine coordination, and human-machine collaboration. The province will promote the use of robots in production, building, and maintenance, thus improving the level of mechanization and intelligence.
Additionally, Jiangsu will actively promote intelligent construction in residential buildings to improve construction efficiency and quality. Support will also be provided for the application of intelligent technologies in new rail transit projects.
The province will prioritize the development of Southern New Town Intelligent Construction Project in Nanjing and the Intelligent Construction Industrial Park in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, with the aim of transforming the two projects into national centers for technological innovation and development in this sector.
Jiangsu also encourages eligible regions to include intelligent construction in their regional development plans and to secure land for the development of intelligent construction industrial clusters.
