The Rural Work Conference (Wu Sheng/Xinhua Daily)
The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee convened its Rural Work Conference in Nanjing on January 7. Xin Changxing, secretary of the committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Governor Xu Kunlin presided over the first plenary session.
Xin stated that it is essential to implement decisions of the Central Rural Work Conference, robustly promote comprehensive rural revitalization, and develop Jiangsu into a top-tier province in agricultural development, thereby supporting Jiangsu's role in pioneering the Chinese path to modernization.

Xin highlighted the need to adopt an integrated urban-rural development approach, and boost efficiency, vitality, and farmers' income through reforms, opening up, and scientific and technological innovation. He underscored Jiangsu’s commitment to prioritizing grain production, developing intelligent agriculture, and exploring the multifaceted values of rural areas.
He called for efforts to ensure solid progress in public welfare projects, and enhance cultural prosperity in the rural area. Jiangsu should deepen reforms in crucial sectors such as land use and financing mechanisms while safeguarding the vital interests of farmers, according to Xin.
During the meeting, governor Xu noted the importance of taking a national lead in agricultural modernization, stimulating developmental momentum with more concrete measures, and leveraging collaborative efforts through improved mechanisms, with the aim to advance the development of a high-level agricultural powerhouse.
