Authorities in Jiangsu Province and Nanjing City have increased efforts to assist the stable operation and capacity expansion of Vazyme, one of five companies approved by the National Medical Products Administration to make the rapid antigen test kits for public use.

The company’s two factories in Nanjing and Taizhou cities have four Class 100,000 cleanrooms and two labs at Class 10,000, with a floor area of about 4,500 sqm. To meet the surging demand, the company plans to add cleanroom workshops by 40,000 sqm, warehouse by 40,000 sqm, and automated production lines. 

The provincial and municipal departments of industry and information technology have sent taskforces to the company to cope with all kinds of problems, such as equipment delivery, supply of raw materials, site security and logistics. The provincial market supervision bureau also set up a team to coordinate works and provide efficient services. In addition, the Nanjing Science and Technology Bureau is poised to offer comprehensive assistance to the company. 

The Vazyme antigen detection kit (Colloidal Gold-Based) has already been supplied to Nanjing and other cities. With increased production capacity, it will better meet the demand for large-scale testing and contribute to the pandemic response in Jiangsu and the country.
