The General Office of Jiangsu People’s Government has rolled out 12 measures in three aspects to boost consumption in the cultural and tourism sectors.
To promote industrial transportation and upgrading, the province will support higher-ranking scenic spots and resorts to build small theaters offering outdoor live performances, develop cultural products and tourism routes themed on the Grand Canal and the intangible cultural heritage items, and develop cultural products and souvenirs with distinctive Jiangsu charms. The province will also improve the global profile of cultural and tourism resources amid the inclusion of Nanjing as a UNESCO's Network of Creative Cities in the literature category and Yangzhou as a UNESCO's Network of Creative Cities in the gastronomy category.
To stimulate consumption, the province will support the cut of ticket prices at state-owned scenic spots and the offer of peak-season/off-season price and discount at tourist attractions and rural tourism zones, and implement the policy of providing discount or free admission to special groups. Jiangsu will also expand the reservation system and aim to realize that admission to the province’s popular attractions and museums are reservation-only by 2022. It will promote the development of tourism promotion center in other countries too.
Government will play leading role and increase support, such as placing quality cultural product, tourism route and service under the support of special governmental fund in the form of procurement. Jiangsu will also promote the development of creative products by state-owned cultural and relics organizations. It will support the integrated development of culture and tourism, and promote cities to form international consumption center.
