Jiangsu’s medical team to coronavirus-hit Huangshi returns home

The medical team receive warm welcome.

The first batch of the medical assistance team from Jiangsu Province, sent to combat the COVID-19 outbreak in Huangshi City of Hubei Province, returned to the Nanjing Lukou International Airport on the afternoon of March 20, ending a challenging mission for 39 days since February 11. 

The passengers in the chartered flight included 240 medics and 31 psychological consultants sent to assist Huangshi and another 7 medics sent to assist Wuhan City, the epicenter of the outbreak.  

On March 17, 362 medics from the team were honored as honorary citizens of Huangshi by the city’s government. On the next day, Huangshi and the command center for Jiangsu’s medical assistance team to Hubei jointly planted trees in a park also in honor of the contribution of medical workers.

A total of 178 members of the 8th medial team of Jiangsu sent to Wuhan also returned to Yancheng City.
