A new logistic solution is quickly transporting honey peach, a specialty in Yangshan Township of Wuxi City, to markets across the country and even international markets.
Early in the morning of June 13, the temporary trading market for the sweet and juicy peaches was already bustling with farmers, merchants and couriers busy with their tasks.
The car park featured nine FAW Jiefang refrigerated trucks of SF Express, China’s top express delivery company, all loaded with newly harvested peach. Soon, drivers started the trucks with a honk, celebrating the first delivery of these fresh fruits this year.
The temporary trading space, inaugurated on June 5, will be the busiest and most lively place during the peach season in Yangshan. Covering a total area of 30 mu, the site integrates trading, cold chain, express delivery, storage and testing functions along with services of information communication, fire fighting, carboard accessories and catering. This integration will ensure the smooth flow and safety of people, cargo and vehicles.
Yangshan has deepened its cooperation with SF Express this year with an upgraded solution so the honey peach can reach more markets and faster. Wuxi branch of SF Express has invested more than ten million yuan for the upgrade, which integrates professional packaging materials, automated equipment, refrigerated trucks, and transportation resources by high-speed trains and cargo planes. The intelligent logistic system transforms all processes of the peach transportation, from order processing to warehousing, sorting, pre-cooling, automated packaging, multi-mode distribution and after-sales service. It supports real-time monitoring of order processing to ensure the peaches can be delivered to buyers on time and in the best condition.
Geng Dong, general manager of Wuxi SF Express, said that the company can deliver honey peaches directly to 282 regions, with Urumqi being the farthest domestic destination, and international markets such as Singapore and Dubai. It can process 200,000 orders per day, with the shipping time efficiency improved by over 10%.
