International Industrial Investment Cooperation Activities held in Jiangsu

The International Industrial Investment Cooperation Activities held its inaugural event in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province on March 22.

Guided by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the event was jointly organized by the province’s Development and Reform Commission, Wuxi Municipal People's Government and the NDRC International Cooperation Center.

More than 60 foreign enterprises and 130 companies from Jiangsu participated the event, which focused on biomedicine, energy conservation, environmental protection, new energy and other fields. Foreign chambers of commerce in China also joined the gathering in Wuxi, adding momentum to the province’s pursuit of high-level opening-up.

The event announced more than ten key national projects in Jiangsu, as well as agreements between industrial parks and overseas institutes. For example, the Management Committee of Wuxi National High-tech Zone agreed with the Foreign Exchange Committee of China-Asia Economic Development Association (CAEDA) for strategic cooperation at various levels. Taicang High-Tech Zone also entered a cooperation agreement with GIZ on Sino-German Energy Efficiency Network.

As an economic powerhouse and a major player in China’s opening-up, Jiangsu achieved the actual use of foreign investment of $30.5 billion in 2022, remaining highest in the country. The province’s foreign trade reached 5.45 trillion yuan, a historical best and ranking second in the country.

Jiangsu vice governor Wang Hui said that the province will be committed to creating a world-class business environment, further stimulating the vitality of market players, and improving services. Wang added that Jiangsu will expand opening to the outside world at a deeper level, facilitate international investment, and strive to become an attractive investment destination.
