Suzhou recognized 30 regional headquarters and functional organizations established by multinational companies (MNC) during the 2022 Suzhou Import Trade Promotion Conference on November 7, held alongside with the Forum for MNC Cooperation and Open Innovation.

Suzhou is already home to 171 MNC regional headquarters and functional agencies at the provincial level and 227 such facilities at the municipal level.

With 18,000 foreign-funded enterprises, Suzhou is a top destination for multinational companies and international investors to tap into the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets.

The conference issued the Annual Special Contribution Award, the Outstanding Contribution Award for keeping investment and trade stable, and the Outstanding Contribution Award for efficiency and innovation to 30 foreign-funded companies each, respectively.

The conference also saw the signing of projects to boost imports, including a base invested by Nanshan Group. Meanwhile, buyers from Suzhou to the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) signed the purchase letter of intent. Taicang Port also entered into agreements with the Trade and Economic Multifunctional Platform for SCO Countries and seven importers.
