Jiangsu has added 47 new technology business incubators at the provincial level in 2021, according to the province’s Department of Science and Technology. 

The coastal province is home to more than 660 such incubators at the provincial level. It has ranked first in China for many years in a row in terms of the number of state-level incubators and tech start-ups under incubation.  

Technology business incubators play a critical role in attracting high-level talent, nurturing technology-based firms and bringing forth emerging industries. The most dynamic platforms for innovation, the incubators also contribute significantly to the provide-wide entrepreneurship drive.  

More efforts will be made to optimize the distribution of incubators, improve services, development level and international reputation, and increase policy support in order to build the province into a powerhouse of innovation.
