Jiangsu has released a planning to strengthen intellectual property rights (IPR) protection in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).
The guideline has specified the development ideas, main objectives, key tasks and support measures in the coastal province.
The province aims to be an IPR powerhouse in the country by 2025, with the number of high-value patents owned per 10,000 people to reach 17 and a satisfaction rate of 80%. Among other goals, the added value of patent-intensive industries is expected to account for 17% of its gross domestic product, and there will be 500 more top-tier IPR professionals.
According to the plan, Jiangsu will take a five-pronged approach to realize the goal, such as enhancing core competitiveness of industries, improving the IPR protection efforts and also promoting the high-level IPR cooperation.
