Lianyungang Customs has gone the extra mile to fully facilitate the export of domestic vehicles through the city’s port, an important gateway to access the international market. 

Recently, the customs worked efficiently to complete the inspection of 62 Hongqi cars on time and ensured their smooth shipment to abroad.  

In optimizing the supervision process, the customs contacted FAW, SAIC Motor and other carmakers in advance to learn about their export and logistics schedule, and then ensured a seamless procedure of the car shipment from the factory to ships.  

Other measures were also undertaken to offer a streamlined service with higher efficiency. Through data sharing with railway and agencies, the customs managed to realize the smooth operation of the Hefei – Lianyungang rail-sea export channel and supported the opening of three new ro-ro routes from the port. 

From January to August this year, the number of exported vehicles through Lianyungang port reached 95,000 units, an increase of 83.3% year-on-year.
