Lianyungang City in East China’s Jiangsu Province launched a platform on August 24 to monitor the carbon emissions at 1,009 enterprise above designated size.
As the first carbon footprint measurement system in the province, it can help the city promote the green development of its industries.
The platform mainly shows information of electricity use by these companies as well as data collected from authorities of energy resources and environmental inspection. The data collection, monitoring, measurement and analysis helps fully understand a business' carbon footprint.
The platform also offers customized database and functions for governmental departments and enterprises. For example, local governments can better understand the carbon emission intensity and distribution of companies that fail to comply with the requirements. Meanwhile, enterprises can get a clear picture of their electricity use, sources of carbon emissions, and possible solutions to level up the techniques.
