Lianyungang Port assists exporting of 1,000 XCMG machinery products

Container ship COSCO SAO PAULO set sail from a berth in Lianyungang Port on July 20 for South America, carrying nearly 1,000 products of Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), China's leading construction machinery manufacturer.

The products mark the largest single batch of export in China's construction machinery industry in the past five years. Early this year, XCMG successfully won the bidding for a large project in the continent but faced challenges of rising shipping cost and shortage of containers due to the pandemic. As a result, Lianyungang Port, COSCO Shipping and XCMG jointly set up a working team to open the new route and implement targeted measures to ensure the smooth exporting.

Zhu Xiangyang, president of Lianyungang Port Holdings Group, said that the port will further optimize the routes, respond proactively to the needs of enterprises, and provide the most efficient and convenient logistics services.
