Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, visited Lianyungang City on May 18 and 19 for a research of the high-quality development of coastal areas.
Lou made stops at Liuyunling Village, Yangshan Island and Yuntai Mountain to learn about progress of rural development, ecological restoration and wildlife protection.
Lou said we should rely on the unique ecological resources of the natural sites for settlement, co-ordinate the development of culture and tourism to promote the comprehensive countryside revitalization, and shore up the special coastal characteristics.
Lou also emphasized that Lianyungang should give full play to the advantages as a key port of the Belt and Road Initiative, a national petrochemical industry base, and a stop of the New Eurasian Land Bridge. The city needs to rely on major projects to build a high-end green industrial system and become a port-based cluster of modern industries. It’s also necessary to make good use of the ecological resources, improve scientific planning, bring to life the history and culture, and speed up the high-quality development of coastal areas.
