Donghai County in Lianyungang City ranked 7th in China in terms of e-commerce livestreaming development, according to the latest research of the Chinese Association of Market Development.

The association evaluated e-commerce livestreaming from five dimensions including consumption of products, quality of livestreaming, and support measures.

As the latest branch of the Internet economy, e-commerce livestreaming has rapidly developed into an important marketing method. Data from the Ministry of Commerce showed that the key platforms reported a total of 24 million livestreaming marketing activities in 2020, which injected new impetus into the economy reeling from the COVID-19 fallout.

In addition to the recognition, Donghai also made it to the top ten popular counties on short-video app Douyin for its strong e-commerce growth.

Rich in mineral resources, Donghai is widely recognized as "China's county of crystal," the top place to get high-quality natural crystal products. The crystal sector has also driven the development of express delivery, catering and other fields in the county.
