Suzhou embroidery, one of the four famous embroideries in China, vividly depicts the culture of Jiangnan region.
"One hair-thick strand could be split into 352 filaments, yet our embroidery masters can still use it to create intricate designs," said Yao Yuehua, a young inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage.
Even an A4-sized embroidery may take months, so every stitch embodies the craftsmanship and perseverance, Yao said.
In 2010, the brand "Yao Embroidery" was born, and began to collaborate with global brands such as Hermès and BMW. Yao hopes the cooperation between the East and the West can spark more inspirations, and bring Suzhou embroidery beyond tradition.
