The China-Europe freight train service from Lianyungang City in East China’s Jiangsu Province made a new milestone on August 25 in expanding the transport network.
A train loaded with South Korean auto parts, electronic products and other goods left the China-Kazakhstan Logistics Base on the day. It will run along the New Eurasian Land Bridge, an international passageway linking the Pacific and the Atlantic, pass Kazakhstan and Belarus, and finally reach Malaszewicze in Poland.
This marked the first cargo train service connecting South Korea, China and Poland. It represented a new progress after the stable operation of the Trans-Caspian transport route, a multimodal route connecting China, Kazakhstan and Turkey with Europe as its final destination.
Through the China-Europe freight trains, Lianyungang is now closely linked with five Central Asian countries, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
