The bidding for a construction project in Lhasa, Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region was completed virtually on June 29 thanks to an online system developed with the support of East China’s Jiangsu Province.
This was the first bidding processed without face-to-face meetings. At 10:oo am, tenderers from several regions including Sichuan and Tibet signed in through the online platform and submitted their offers. Then 40 minutes later, members of the evaluation team at public resources trading centers in Tibet and Nanjing began to view the offers, held video conference, and confirmed their decisions with e-signature.
Jiangsu set up a task force in April to help the autonomous region integrate the public resource trading. In close cooperation with local authorities for three months, the group has made progress in building the IT platform, pooling resources of experts, and facilitating online participation of bidding reviews.
