With new metro lines opening in Changzhou and Suzhou cities, Jiangsu Province will soon see 23 operational subway lines with a total length of about 796 kilometers.
Meanwhile, five cities in the province are building 21 subway lines now, among which the western extension of Line 2 in Nanjing, the Nanjing-Jurong Intercity Railway and Wuxi’s Line 4 will open within this year.
In recent years, Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu, has made rapid progress in expanding its subway network. The city opened Line S7, a north-south suburban rapid transit line primarily serving Lishui District, on May 26, 2018. Construction of 11 new subway lines is in full swing in the city, and together they will add 209 kilometers more to the current length of 378 kilometers.
