Jiangsu will further lower the price of COVID-19 nucleic acid tests to no more than 16 yuan per person for a single test at public medical institutions starting from May 27, according to the province’s Healthcare Security Administration.

The price for batch testing, which combines samples from up to 10 people in a single test, is suggested to be four yuan per person at most, said the administration. 

Public medical institutions should carry out testing services in strict accordance with the technical specifications and ensure both the individual and batch testing options available. 

Non-public medical institutions and testing laboratories should follow the principle of "fairness, legality and honesty" when setting prices.
