Jiangsu took the national lead with ten winners among the top 100 high-tech manufacturing parks, according to a study by China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), a research institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
CCID made the ranking after a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of 218 national-level economic development zones and 168 high-tech zones.
Nine out of the ten winning parks are located in the province’s southern area, one in central part. The parks are mostly specialized in sectors of biomedicine, electronic information and high-end equipment. Suzhou is home to four winners, followed by two in Changzhou and one in Nanjing, Wuxi, Nantong and Taizhou each.
In recent years, Jiangsu has strengthened measures to build it into a powerhouse of manufacturing industry. Efforts have focused on promoting research of core technology, platform for innovation, industrial clusters and policy support.
