Cross-border e-commerce in Nanjing has maintained the good momentum at the start of the New Year, according to Jinling Customs House.

During the three-day New Year holiday, products worth 22.39 million yuan including textile and clothing, consumer goods and toys were exported through the e-commerce model, said Kong Fanhui, a customs officer in the Post Office Stationed by Jinling Customs House.

"In 2020, we supervised 6.543 million cross-border e-commerce deals with a cargo weight of 2,058.7 tons, and their market value increased 70.5 percent year on year to reach 1.89 billion yuan," said Kong.

As COVID-19 restrictions eased, many foreign trade enterprises resumed work and production in the second half of 2020, and the cross-border e-commerce surged thanks to the opening of more all-cargo flights. Jinling Customs House has actively provided fast-track services and adopted new technologies to improve the customs clearance and boost e-commerce across borders.
