Kunshan City in Jiangsu Province held a signing ceremony for 47 important projects and also accelerated the start of construction for 78 projects on the morning of February 20.
The 47 projects, with a total investment of 61.7 billion yuan, are mainly in fields of intelligent manufacturing, new energy, electronic information, biomedicine and headquarters economy.
The 78 projects that will break ground before the end of June involve a total investment of 87.1 billion yuan.
Kunshan, a famous manufacturing hub, is home to nearly 32,000 manufacturing companies. The city has increased efforts to achieve two goals – ensure the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus epidemic and also promote the orderly resumption of work. The priority is to create an environment and assist industrial enterprises above the designated size to get back to work.
Data shows over 400,000 employees returned to their workplaces in the city’s industrial enterprises and over 90 percent of industrial enterprises above the designated size resumed operation by February 19.
