Jiangsu announced 220 major provincial projects with a total investment of 541 billion yuan ($77.2 billion) on February 18, which will receive prioritized support in terms of work resumption, recruitment, epidemic prevention, and materials supply.
Work has resumed on a number of strategic emerging industry projects. February 17 saw the restart of a large-scale silicon wafer project developed by Xuzhou Golden Concord Holdings Limited (GCL Group) for integrated circuits. A rigorous and comprehensive management system track and record the health conditions of all employees to ensure they are in good health.
Under strict sterilizing procedures and protective measures, 15 provincial key projects with a combined investment of 49 billion yuan has remained underway during the Spring Festival holiday. They included Wuxi Zhonghuan Integrated Circuit, Huai’an Shihlien Chemical Electronic Specialty Product, the SK Innovation’s Lithium-ion battery plant in Yancheng, and the Siemens Motor and CNC Production Project.
Local governments have given priority to solving problems such as labor shortages, logistical obstacles, and insufficient supply of raw materials during the epidemic. Since February 10, work has resumed on major infrastructure projects such as the Shanghai-Nantong Railway Phase I, Yancheng-Nantong High-speed Railway, and Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou South Expressway.
